Seven Bells

In: SGI

Mr. Toda once said
“The Soka Gakkai should advance a major step every seven years” and “Let’s sound a bell every seven years to mark our progress toward kosen-rufu. Let’s aim to strike seven bells!"
This is the origin of the Seven Bells. It is a concept that has been passed down through the generations of Soka Gakkai Leaders from Toda to Sensei. It is of course goals and milestones - so far the First Seven Bells is actual proof of the practice. Completion of the 30 odd volumes of The New Human Revolution is a huge undertaking and a major milestone - but sensei has said that the real proof of the practice is in the lives of the members. These books is a record of the life of Sensie on the front line of Kosen-rufu, and the best example of the Soka Gakkai spirit - we can walk in his shoes as it were.

What this means

The Soka Gakkai’s Foundation has firmly been set despite many challenges and obstacles, the effective global spread of Nichiren Buddhism across the world is a reality. The Soka Gakkai has been able to establish a solid foundation for the future, and the Soka Gakkai’s Centennial is a time to celebrate the achievements of the past and look forward to the future. The groundwork is set, and the wheels are in motion for the next phase of worldwide kosen-rufu. This site is dedicated to the Soka Gakkai and the SGI, and the members who have made this possible, we are the proof of the practice.
So my mission is working towards 2030, to have many Soka Gakkai member chanting as one, in a constant flow of daimoku for indestructible foundation for lasting world peace and the brilliant flowering of humanity. This is part of the Mentor and Disciple relationship with Sensei, I take his vow on as my own.
