'Great achievements are the extension of smaller ones'
In The Record of The Orally Transmitted Teachings, it discussed the Buddha's 'one great reason' for appearing in the world.
We must remember that a succession of small achievements leads to great success.
Success breeds Success.
Victory is won only by building patiently, step by step, in the present.
Plain, honest work, day by day, unknown to anyone - that is important.
Time alone will reveal to the world whether my actions have been worthwhile.
Why
The world is in a pretty dark place at the moment.
Europe has Karma of Conflict, having been the birthplace of two World Wars, but it is not the only place that has such karma.
Some buddhist traditions choose to observe this world as a Matrix like Simulation.
A core belief of Nichiren Buddhism is because we are in the world we can change it, we seek to
Change the Destiny of Mankind, due to the Oneness of self and environment.
What if Oneness of Self and Environment was true?
That would mean no matter where or who you are, people like you can make a difference!
What if you could all chant together, where ever you are together as one, the one mind the one voice?
What if your Daimoku was the last voice on earth, would you not chant a few minutes longer if you could?
Our Shared vision is the idea that somebody somewhere is chanting for Kosen Rufu,
that this is an unending stream of determination.
When one person chants with the power of 10,000, what if 10,000 people chanted single-mindedly for Kosen Rufu?
How would the world change bathed in daimoku?
I have faith that that our daimoku can lift this world out of darkness,
that we can transform karma, that we can Change the Destiny of, and elevate Mankind.
Your Daimoku matters.
Time alone will reveal to the world whether our actions have been worthwhile.
How
We believe in our Buddha nature.
We believe in our lives that are one with the Mystic Law.
As long as we have faith based on the Gohonzon, we will triumph over whatever hardships we may presently face.
Mr Toda urged us to make the Gohonzon the core of our convictions and unite in the spirit of 'many in body,
one in mind' to create a new age.
One of the power of 10,000 people
The Many Bodies are shining minds, as a shining light in the (fundamental) darkness.
The power of one such mind, one such person with such a strong Ichinin/Focus/Determination can have the power of 10,000 people.
Ichinen Sanzen
The renowned sixth-century Buddhist scholar T’ien-t’ai (538–97) developed a meditative practice to enable people to perceive the boundless extent of their lives at each moment. He also developed a theoretical system to describe this reality. He called this “three thousand realms in a single moment of life” (Jpn. ichinen sanzen). Ichinen sanzen demonstrates that the entire phenomenal world exists in a single moment of life.
Each person’s life contains infinite potential; this is the core belief of Nichiren Buddhism. While it may be easy to accept this in a theoretical sense, in reality we tend to impose limits on our possibilities. To a large extent we define our lives in terms of these perceived or unconscious limitations—I am able to do this but not that. We can exist quite comfortably within our own self-imposed limits, but when we come up against a problem or challenge and we feel we lack the ability or the spiritual resources to overcome it, we suffer. We feel overwhelmed or helpless, or afraid.
Nichiren teaches an eternal principle for any group to achieve its goals no matter the adversity.
The expression many in body crystallizes an essential teaching of Nichiren’s that we should treasure each individual
for the unique person that they are. Everyone’s personality, background and circumstances are different.
When we come together, respect one another’s contributions, and work for the same goal, nothing can stop us.
On the other hand, even though we may all look and act the same outwardly, if our minds are not united,
we can “achieve nothing remarkable.”
